| Is
PowerMarker free? |
| Absolutely yes, even for industry users. |
|
Does PowerMarker support sequence data? |
| Basically the answer is no. PowerMarker
is designed for marker data. However, PowerMarker does support SNP data. |

Does PowerMarker support haploid data? |
| Yes. You can import haploid data in
raw/table format. Some of the analysis, such as HWE test, can not be
performed on haploid data, and you will get an error message if you do that. |

What's the difference of PowerMarker and GDA? |
| Both programs were developed in
the Bioinformatics program in North Carolina State University, and GDA was
maintained by Paul Lewis. Most of the analysis overlaps, but PowerMarker is
newer than GDA and provides a more user-friendly interface. |
