You can annotate this file as much as you want. Just don't put in any
extra stuff in the -start to -stop block. Everything after the -end
token is ignored. Before the -start token, only the -type, -function,
-param, -units, -chromosomes and -maximum tokens are processed. The token
following each of these is read and the information used in the
program.
The format of the information in -start to -stop block is
unimportant. You just need whitespaces around each piece of information.
All the marker names and their distances could be on one line.
